Narayana Superspeciality Hospital pledges for tobacco free Kolkata

Narayana Superspeciality Hospital in association with Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) and Indian Dental Association (IDA) announced the introduction of a weekly oral screening camp and Tobacco Sensitisation Programme to raise awareness regarding the ill-effects of tobacco. The occasion witnessed the presence of Janab Firhad Hakim, Mayor, KMC, R Venkatesh, Regional Director, Narayana Health, Dr. Janak Raj Sabarwal, National President, IDA and many more. On this occasion, R Venkatesh said, “Through the Oral screening camp and Tobacco Sensitisation Programme, we will help the people to be aware of its ill effects.”

Federal Bank rededicates its Kolkata zonal office

Federal Bank’s Kolkata zonal office has been shifted to a new location at Avani Signature Building, Park Street, Kolkata. Prof Anju Seth, Director, IIM Calcutta inaugurated the new premises. The function was attended by Shyam Srinivasan, MD & CEO, Federal Bank, Nandakumar V, Senior Vice President and Network II Head, Federal Bank, Dileep B, Vice President and Kolkata Zonal Head, Federal Bank, other employees and customers of the Bank and general public. Kolkata Zonal Office set up at the new modish office will be the administrative office to seven regions/clusters and 91 branches functioning under it.

SAIL bounces back with net profit during FY 2018-19

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) staged a turnaround by posting a net profit (After Tax) of Rs.  2178.82 crore in FY 2018-19 as against a net loss of Rs. 481.71 crore in FY 2017-18. SAIL’s operating margin grew by more than 100% during FY 2018-19. Anil Kumar Chaudhary, Chairman, SAIL, dedicated the turnaround to organisational synergy said, “The entire SAIL collectively worked in mission mode to achieve this turnaround. We all are committed to put SAIL into a higher orbit of performance. We shall put in even greater efforts to ramp-up production.”

JSW Cement to double production capacity in east region

JSW Cement, India’s leading producer of green cement, plans to double its cement production capacity by 2023. JSW currently has its production unit at Salboni, West Bengal in the eastern region with cement making capacity of about 4MTPA. Nilesh Narwekar, CEO, JSW Cement said, “The present market scenario for green cement gives us the confidence that our plans to scale up production capacity will enable us to meet customer needs for green cement in this  region.” K Swaminathan, Chief Marketing Officer, JSW Cement added, “We want to strengthen our position as one of the leading green cement players in West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar & Jharkhand.
